Bologna to Florence, Italy May 6, 2005

Renzo was to teach in Florence on the Friday and he and Daniela suggested that we train to Florence with Renzo and enjoy Florence for a day. One thing we learned was how efficient the trains were in Italy and Germany. A great way to travel.

Our trip really started at the Bologna train station and our tour guide, Renzo, was eager to show us the way. Once we got to Florence we went to the Convent of San Marco, truly beautiful paintings inside. Of course we went to see the statue of David and marveled how someone could truly carve such beauty. We walked over Ponte Vecchio, what we thought was a bridge was a bridge with shops. From there we just walked about Florence, having lunch and later a beer at a pizza shop before meeting back up with Renzo for the train back to Bologna.
